API keys & headless

Keys for developers who run a storefront outside Shopify themes — Hydrogen or a fully custom stack. If your store uses a normal Shopify theme, you never need this page.

What the keys unlock

A headless storefront has no theme, so the app's theme blocks cannot load there. With API keys, your developer calls the app's search and recommendations directly and renders the results in your own front end. Headless API access is a Custom-plan feature. The secret key

The screen is Settings → API keys in the PersonalizerAI dashboard. On the Custom plan it shows one key, the Secret key: "Keep it on your server. Never put it in browser code." On any other plan the screen explains that the headless API is part of the Custom plan and shows no key. Your theme's widgets and search never need a key.

The key shows masked. Click Copy to copy the full key without showing it; the button shows Copied when it worked. Click Reveal to see the full value; it hides again on its own after 30 seconds. You can reveal and copy the key again at any time.

1. Open the PersonalizerAI dashboard.
2. Go to Settings → API keys.
3. Click Copy.
4. Give the key to your developer.

Regenerate the secret key

1. Click Regenerate secret key.
2. Tick the checkbox I understand this will break existing integrations.
3. Click Regenerate key.
4. Give the new key to your developer.

After the first rotation, the screen shows Key last rotated with the date, below the card.
