One word for one thing. Every page in this Help Center uses the terms below with these exact meanings — and avoids the synonyms in the last column.
Why so strict? Two words for the same thing make you wonder if they are two different things. So we picked one word per concept and kept it. The one exception: labels in the app's screens stay exactly as the screen shows them, in bold — even when the label uses a word from the "We do not say" column.
Term | Meaning | We do not say |
|---|---|---|
A/B test | A test that splits shoppers into groups and measures which setup earns more. The PersonalizerAI dashboard's screen is A/B Testing and its button is New A/B test. One field in the setup dialog is labelled Experiment name. |

app block | A widget section you place, move, and remove in the Shopify theme editor, like any theme section. |

attributed revenue | Revenue from an order that follows a shopper's click on a widget or search result, in the same visit. |

autocomplete | Search suggestions that appear under the search box while the shopper types. |
bundle | A group of products that sell together, offered with one add-all button and an optional automatic discount. |

rule | A merchandising rule that boosts, buries, pins, or excludes products in results. |
